Booking & Payments

How do I book?

You can book directly through our website using the booking calendar, or contact us via email at hello@mykatoomba.com. We also list on Airbnb and Booking.com, but booking direct gets you the best price (15% savings).

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and PayPal. Payment is processed securely at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer free cancellation up to 7 days before check-in. Cancellations within 7 days receive a 50% refund. No-shows are non-refundable. For extenuating circumstances, please contact us directly.

Is a deposit required?

We do not take a security deposit. Payment is 50% upfront at the time of booking to secure your dates, with the remaining 50% due on the day of arrival.

Check-in & Check-out

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. Early check-in or late checkout may be available on request (subject to availability) – just ask!

How does check-in work?

We use self check-in with a secure lockbox. You'll receive detailed instructions including the door code 24 hours before arrival. No need to coordinate meeting times!

Can I request an early check-in or late checkout?

We always do our best to support these requests, but each will need to be assessed case by case, as it takes a considerable amount of time preparing the cottage for you, or the next guest's stay. Please reach out to us directly if you need help planning your arrival or departure times.

The Cottages

Are the cottages heated?

Yes! Both cottages have cozy wood fires (firewood provided) plus reverse-cycle air conditioning for heating and cooling. You'll be comfortable year-round.

Is WiFi available?

Yes, we provide free high-speed WiFi in both cottages. Fast enough for streaming, video calls, or working remotely.

Is parking available?

There is no off-street parking at the cottages, but there is ample free on-street parking available nearby.

Are there stairs to access the cottages?

Yes, both cottages have stairs to access the entrance. Please keep this in mind if you or your guests have mobility considerations.

Are the cottages suitable for families?

Yes! Both cottages are great for families and we welcome guests of all ages.

Is there a minimum stay?

We have a 2-night minimum stay, extending to 3 nights over long weekends and public holidays. For peak periods (Christmas, Easter), minimum stays may be longer.

Policies

Are pets allowed?

We're sorry, but pets are not permitted at either cottage. This is to ensure the comfort of guests with allergies.

Is smoking allowed?

Both cottages are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside in the garden areas only.

Are parties or events allowed?

The cottages are designed for peaceful getaways, not parties. We ask that noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm out of respect for neighbours.

What is the maximum occupancy?

Both cottages sleep up to 4 adults.

Location & Getting Around

How far are you from Sydney?

We're about 100km from Sydney CBD, approximately 1.5-2 hours drive depending on traffic. By train, it's about 2 hours from Central Station to Katoomba.

Do I need a car?

A car is useful for exploring further afield (Jenolan Caves, Scenic World, various bushwalks), but many guests enjoy car-free visits. The cottages are walking distance to Katoomba station, cafes, and some walking tracks.

What's nearby?

You're within 5 minutes walk of Katoomba station, shops, cafes, and restaurants. Echo Point (Three Sisters) is 10 minutes drive. Scenic World is 12 minutes drive. See our Location page for more details.
